Camp Saskadet Marks 50 Years of Memories and Cadet Training
This year on June 27-29th, Camp Saskadet celebrated its 50th anniversary.
Bringing together its alumni, staff, and community members, the event reflects the camp's legacy as a part of the cadet program. Participants enjoyed a performance from a local artist, competed for prizes, participated in a raffle draw, and enjoyed a bonfire to end the night.
Known for its campsite, cadets use Camp Saskadet throughout the year for different types of training such as biathlon, canoeing, and survival skills. Beyond training, it has become a place for cadet youth to learn, grow, and form lasting relationships. Many attendees remarked on the fond memories and bonds created over the years. The camp is noted for its remarkable scenery adding to the experience of the program.
During the celebratory dinner provided, memories of Camp Sasakdet and the cadet program were shared while recognizing the support from volunteers and custodians that helped the camp to continue to thrive and mark its place in the lives of cadets.
