The Provincial Executive fully supports this decision and I can advise that we will be proudly hosting the National AGM in 2022. A Mountain of gratitude to Larry for leading the charge and researching options. Thank you also to Mr. Pierre Forgues - National Executive Director for assistance and support in decision making to date. Thank you to the BOG for their wisdom and my heartfelt gratitude to the committee and all those who stepped forward to assist with the AGM.</span></li>
<li class="_1mf _1mj" data-offset-key="aqct6-0-0">Effective Speaking (Zones, Provincials and National competitions) - The decision has been made by the National Effective speaking committee to cancel it for this training year. I am in awe of the skill and dedication Janine has demonstrated. Thank you for the countless hours of attention you have dedicated to planning for the competition this year. I am sorry circumstances are preventing the plan from coming together.</li>
<li class="_1mf _1mj" data-offset-key="aqct6-0-0">IACE - Another difficult decision. There will be no International Air Cadet Exchange in 2020 due to Covid-19. I cannot imagine the intensity of the meetings Brent was involved in with our IACE Partner Countries. Thank you Brent, I truly believe you have experienced everything at this point in your career with the League.</li>

<p>RE: Air Cadet League of Canada &ndash; Saskatchewan Provincial Committee (SKACL) response to Covid-19 Pandemic</p>

<p>Friends,</p>
<p>We are faced with a unique situation where we must take into consideration our actions specific to the health and well being of the public, our employees, volunteers and Cadets. I have no need to explain our concerns as the world is currently talking about Covid-19.</p>
<p>I encourage everyone to wash hands, avoid touching your face, use hand sanitizer and avoid direct personal contact whenever possible, practice social distancing and If you are sick, please stay home, self isolate and monitor. Beyond that I recommend the immediate suspension of all League sponsored events and SSC activities &ndash; fundraisers, tag days, bottle drives, SSC meetings etc. I understand that many events are in process and cannot be stopped without consequence. Please do what you can to reschedule or cancel and if you cannot cancel, please practice extreme hygiene.</p>
<p>We will get through this; I believe we need to be cautious, At this time, I encourage us to be proactive and restrict our group activities. This includes postponement of the Zone and Provincial Effective Speaking competition(s). Details regarding rescheduling will be distributed when available.</p>
<p>I encourage you to meet via teleconference / web conference with your respective committee members and discuss routine business, the immediate concern about holding your event as scheduled, postponing and / or cancelling individual events and activities as required. How will this affect you? Can it be cancelled? What are the costs associated with cancelling? Ultimately the decision is yours to make. I can only offer a recommendation.</p>
<p>As chairperson for Saskatchewan I recommend that all nonessential League and SSC sponsored / supported activities be postponed until further notice. I encourage you to communicate with officers and CO's for your respective squadrons as they are being guided by RCSU(NW). They will work to keep you us as required as information is updated on their end.</p>

SKACL Response to COVID-19 Pandemic

<div dir="auto">Lisa Rieger joined the Air Cadet community when two of her children enrolled with 38 Anavets in Prince Albert, approx 4 years ago.&nbsp; Very quickly Lisa identified several areas where she could get involved and put some of her many skills and talents to work.&nbsp;</div>

<div dir="auto">She is well connected, much admired and respected within the community of Prince Albert and beyond.&nbsp; She utilizes those relationships to further her work with our organization.&nbsp; Her peers describe Lisa as a terrific motivator - she makes work fun! &nbsp;</div>

<div dir="auto">The SSC has grown with her at the helm. She works tirelessly to prepare and organize for events. Lisa is often looking for ways to give back to other local organizations, something she encourages her children, all cadets and fellow cadet parents to do as well. She appreciates and reciprocates good deeds. &nbsp;</div>

<div dir="auto">She is the brainchild of the squadron&rsquo;s major fundraising event of the year. &nbsp;</div>
<div dir="auto">Three years ago she introduced the concept of hosting a huge Trade Fair - one stop shopping early in the holiday season, showcasing many local artisans and home based businesses.&nbsp; She galvanized the cadet community and local businesses to get involved.&nbsp; Again, everyone has a blast working to raise funds with the opportunity for our cadets in uniform to assist wherever they can during the event. &nbsp;</div>

<div dir="auto">Lisa has a passion for Camp Saskadet. She pitches in whenever cadets are using the camp and most recently got involved with a volunteer work party delivering new flooring to the camp.&nbsp;</div>

<div dir="auto">While she enjoys and excels in her role as SSC chair, Lisa understands the value and importance of change.&nbsp; She is stepping aside to encourage other parents to bring fresh ideas forward - but understand she will continue as a mentor and carry on with the many initiatives that she has begun.&nbsp;</div>

<div dir="auto">Lisa also has a day job!&nbsp; She is the Director of Early Childhood Education TLC Daycare Inc. Birch Hills, SK.&nbsp; She is admired by her staff and adored by the little ones.&nbsp;</div>

<div dir="auto">Lisa, together with her husband Joe, has 6 children - 4 of whom are involved in the cadet organization. They also have a child in Navy League and Lisa has recently become an officer with that organization. &nbsp;</div>
